"The ‘House in Alentejo’ is a personal project inspired by the Mediterranean style that originated in a region of my home country, Portugal. The idea was to create a vacation house that looks and feels like a refuge, where you would gladly spend your summer. The lighting was very important. I wanted to bring forth the warm and cozy feeling of a Portuguese summer day."

"The ‘Hans Broos Tower’ is mainly casted in natural, raw concrete, a striking departure from today’s design trends and what initially attracted me to the project. To further highlight the brutalist vibe, I decided to take things a step further and used more intense, stained, and raw concrete plates on all the floors, walls and ceilings – certainly an unusual choice given the nature of the project."

It is hard to believe that this headshot of an elderly Chinese gentleman is Ruming’s first foray into portrait art. Ruming himself is entirely self-taught. His passion for 3D began during his college days when he saw his roommate studying 3ds Max. Curiosity soon turned into an obsession, and in 2016, following his graduation, Ruming knew he wanted to pursue a career in the CG industry.

"I see nature and the built environment as interconnected rather than opposed, and the ‘Between Worlds’ series is about blurring the boundaries between the two. The inspiration for this series came from an image I once saw of a desert with a door open and sand flowing in, which stuck with me for a long time, and motivated me to literally bring nature into architecture by merging the two worlds completely."

"Creating a comfortable atmosphere within the dark required additional lighting scenarios. The soft warm lighting near the stone wall emphasizes the relief and texture without losing functionality. The pendant lights serve a similar purpose: when turned off, they are an interesting decorative element, but if you turn them on, they become a functional element in the illumination of the space."

"Villa Escorial is a commercial multi-project composed of several luxury villas built around an exclusive golf course. Essential characteristics as defined by the client were golf as a sport and lifestyle, the latter translating to great importance being placed on nature and privacy. For the team, it was essential to convey the feeling of calm in a Mediterranean environment whose protagonist is golf."

"One of the most incredible aspects of this project is its location in the Atlantic Forest foothills, so reproducing the terrain was crucial. The sloped land made things a little trickier, so did the abundant vegetation: I wanted to convey the feeling of a house in the middle of the forest without obstructing the building too much, so I had to carefully position all the trees."

"When I say that the Japandi style combines the best of Scandinavian and Japanese design philosophies, I am referring to the furniture and, more importantly, the feeling it evokes. The harmony and balance of the Japanese style, coupled with the comfort and simplicity of the Scandinavian style, creates a minimalist and modern aesthetic that fits perfectly in today’s world."

"I remember watching ‘Kong: Skull Island' and being amazed by the visuals, the environment, and the ambience. I felt inspired to make a scene with a similar theme, so I started imagining a radioactive environment in which Kong might have lived a long time ago, and that seemed like a sufficiently stimulating idea for a creative project!"

"Most important to me was the main shot, giving a complete view of the room. I also wanted to show the cityscape and the typical London weather through the windows to get a proper feel for the locale. The most difficult, yet equally important, part of this house was the construction of the strange cornices covering almost all the walls and especially the ceiling. I placed and fixed them both manually and with the help of special plugins."

"I was inspired to recreate this project with the aim of capturing the emotion conveyed in each image. The scene is set during golden hour, and I was intrigued by the challenge of capturing this very specific atmosphere through colors, contrast, soft lighting, and shadows. My emphasis was on the directionality of the sun – where it is hitting and what the resulting colors, light, and shadows would be."
